Parable of the Rules

A young apprentice took a cup of First Light. He boiled the water too quickly, and the tremor overwhelmed him. He poured the cup into the ground in frustration. The farmer said, “The light cannot be forced, nor can the tremor be stolen. Every seed has its rule, every cup its way.To ignore this is to awaken chaos.”

The bean added, “And yet, some will ignore the rules anyway, and we will laugh again.”XXXXXXX-LOST TO TIME?

Parable: The Three Drinkers

A man drank the First Light and awakened, for all the world revealed itself at once. Another drank the Shadowed Sun and slept in contentment, dreaming of nothing and everything. A third drank decaf and asked, “Why am I here again?” And the bean only laughed, for it had served its purpose to each exactly as needed. XXXXXXXXX-LOST TO TIME?

The Book of Roasts:

The Orders of the Roast

And so it was seen that not all light burned equally, nor did all drinkers awaken in the same way. And the farmers spoke: “Let these be known as the Orders of the Roast, that each seed’s passage through fire may be honored, and each cup may find its purpose.”

Parable of the First Light

A young apprentice took the First Light, eager to see.He trembled as the brightness poured into him, his thoughts racing faster than the sun could rise. He ran through the village shouting,

“Everything is awake! Everything is awake!”

And some covered their ears.Others laughed and followed.

And the bean whispered:“Fear not the energy, for it is only the world waking within you.”XXXXX -LOST TO TIME

Parable of the Tempered Flame

A traveler drank the Tempered Flame, neither too sharp nor too dull. His mind hummed with clarity, yet his hands were steady enough to make mistakes without panic. He shared a cup with the farmer and said, “I feel awake, yet I do not burn.” And the farmer smiled, “That is balance, and balance is rare.”

Parable of the Shadowed Sun

An elder took the Shadowed Sun, seeking comfort rather than revelation. He sipped slowly, letting the flavor fill his tongue before it demanded his thoughts. He hummed a quiet tune and remembered the past, and forgot the future.

And the bean chuckled softly, “Not all who drink seek the horizon; some only wish to rest in shadow.”XXXXXX-LOST TO TIME?

The Law of Orders

And the farmers decreed:The First Light awakens fully, but not all are ready. The Tempered Flame balances awakening with steadiness. The Shadowed Sun comforts, teaching patience through darkness.

And the bean added quietly, “Each has purpose. Each reveals the world differently.None is superior, only suited.”

And thus the first law of the Orders of the Roast was recorded: “The passage through fire is a law unto itself, and each drinker’s path will be different. ”A man asked the bean:“Which roast is best?”

And the bean said, “The one you have in your hand, for it has already chosen you. ”And the man laughed nervously, for he had not expected wisdom to taste like coffee.

BOOK V (Continued) The Book of Roasts – Expanded Parables.

A child came to the cup of First Light and trembled. Her eyes widened as thoughts poured through her veins, faster than the sun could rise. She tried to speak, but the words left her tongue too slow for her mind. The farmer laughed softly, “You have met your first awakening. Be gentle with it.”

And the bean whispered unseen, “Not all who see the world first are prepared to carry it....”XXXXXXX-LOST TO TIME?

A traveler wandered to the Tempered Flame, seeking a steady light to illuminate without burning. He drank slowly, savoring both warmth and calm, letting it flow through him like sunlight filtered through leaves. He said to the farmer, “I feel awake, yet nothing trembles within me.”

And the farmer said, “Balance is rare. Keep it close, for it teaches without frightening.”And The Be..XXXXXX-LOST TO TIME?

An elder took the shadowed sun in his hands. He sipped with intent, letting the flavor sink into his thoughts. The warmth comforted, but the fire left no tremor. And he smiled, “I do not awaken, but I remember. I do not question, but I feel.”

And the bean laughed quietly, “Not all journeys require rushing......”XXXXXXX-LOST TO TIME?

Parables of The Mountain

Far beyond the hills, where the sun touches the horizon and the clouds kneel to the earth, there is a mountain. Its soil remembers the beginning of all light, and the seeds there carry the purest essence. Travelers come to Kona seeking it, whispering quietly to each other WaiKona, but few arrive unspoiled, for the mountain does not bend to desire. And the farmers whisper:“Respect what is earned. Do not take the mountain’s light as a gift without its trials. ”Some taste its beans only in story, others in the rarest cup, and all are changed, even if they do not know how, From the first awakening, there was strife. Light moved swiftly, illuminating thought, perception, and the unguarded soul. Dark lingered in corners, patient and calculating, claiming the comfort of habit, ritual, and stillness. The seed carried both forces in secret: some flames burned too quickly, others almost not at all.And the farmers taught:“Light is truth and tremor. Dark is rest and reflection. Both must exist, yet neither can fully rule.”

And so began the unseen battle: Light seeking to awaken all it touched. Dark seeking to preserve order and habit. They circled in the minds of drinkers, in the soil, and even in the beans themselves. The Order of the Roast was born from this struggle, to guide the seed and the cup, and to honor both forces without letting either consume everything.

Tempered Flame – Balance Emerging

Some sought neither complete awakening nor complete shadow. They sought the middle path: warmth tempered with light, reflection balanced with tremor. The Tempered Flame was their teacher, the cup their guide. And they discovered something extraordinary: the Tempered does not resist either light or dark; it allows both to speak, and chooses action only when necessary.

“Balance,” the bean murmured, “is not compromise, but understanding. It is a fire that warms without scorching, a light that illuminates without blinding.”XXXXXXX-LOST TO TIME?

And so the first true disciples of balance arose: drinkers who could awaken without shivering, reflect without sinking, and respect the seed without demanding it reveal all its secrets.

Yet not all embraced light. Some turned from the awakening and sought only comfort. They removed themselves from the seed’s awakening, choosing the shape without the fire, the ritual without the tremor. And while the farmers did not yet name it, the first seeds of complacency were planted. The light still burned, the dark still lingered, and the Middle Path watched patiently, knowing that choice was yet to be fully tested.
